The Witcher Season 4 has had a big name added to its cast, as acclaimed actor Laurence Fishburne has joined the Netflix adaptation.
The official Twitter account for The Witcher revealed that Fishburne will be playing the character of Regis, described as a “world-wise Barber-surgeon with a mysterious past.” The character first appeared in Baptism of Fire — the fifth book in The Witcher series of novels. Regis is also mentioned in various video games of The Witcher and appears in Gwent: The Witcher Card Game and the Blood and Wine expansion of The Witcher 3.
As for Fishburne, he’s had no shortage of iconic roles over the years, such as Morpheus in The Matrix, the Bowery King in the John Wick franchise, and Jack Crawford in the Mads Mikkelsen-led Hannibal television series.
