Young Sheldon Spin-off Happening at CBS

Though the final season hasn’t aired yet, a new Young Sheldon spin-off focused on two characters from the series is in the works.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the spin-off will focus on Sheldon’s older brother and his fiancée — Georgie Cooper (played by Montana Jordan) and Mandy McAllister (played by Emily Osment). Though deals have yet to be closed, executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Holland, and Steve Molaro are apparently set to develop the show with CBS, with the trio writing it.

The outlet notes that the series would have a 13-episode order and be a a multicamera comedy — more akin to The Big Bang Theory’s format than Young Sheldon’s. The show would be considered for the 2024-25 broadcast season. Also worth noting is that this new Young Sheldon spin-off is a different one than the Big Bang Theory spin-off announced last year.

Young Sheldon stars Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Jim Parsons (as the voice of Sheldon). Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, Steve Holland, Nick Bakay, Jim Parsons, and Todd Spiewak serve as executive producers.
