Alice & Jack Trailer Previews Masterpiece’s Upcoming Romantic Drama

Masterpiece has finally dropped the first trailer for the upcoming UK romantic drama Alice & Jack, starring Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie) and Domhnall Gleeson (About Time) as a couple on the brink of their relationship. The series is set to premiere on March 17.

In the trailer, the title characters are undeniably head over heels for each other, with Riseborough’s Alice telling Gleeson’s Jack that “if [she] could be with anyone in the world, it would be with [him].”

However, as their relationship passes different milestones, their once strong bond and connection seem to be gradually falling apart.

“A love story for the ages”

Alice & Jack premiered in September last year at Toronto International Film Festival.

The synopsis reads: “When Alice and Jack first meet, they’re bound by a connection so powerful it seems nothing can break it, but will their path lead them to a place of happiness and togetherness? Or will life and their own emotional complexities get in the way? Honest, intimate and surprisingly funny, the series shows love in all its unexpected, technicolor, kaleidoscopic beauty.”

Created and written by Golden Globe winner Victor Levin (Mad Men), the upcoming romantic drama series is produced by Fremantle, Me + You Productions, Groundswell Productions, and De Maio Entertainment, in collaboration with Channel 4. Juho Kuosmanen (Compartment No. 6) and Hong Khaou (Monsoon) are the show’s directors.

In addition to Riseborough and Gleeson, Alice & Jack will also feature Sex Education’s Aimee Lou Wood as Maya, This Way Up’s Aisling Bea as Lynn, and Brian and Charles’ Sunil Patel as Paul.

Alice & Jack premieres on Masterpiece on March 17.
