Kaos Teaser Trailer Introduces Jeff Goldblum as Zeus in Netflix Series

Netflix has dropped the Kaos teaser trailer for its upcoming dark comedy, which will reimagine Greek mythology in a modern-day setting. The video introduces Jurassic Park vet Jeff Goldblum as the all-powerful Zeus, whose reign over the world is nearing its end. The series is expected to make its debut in 2024.

What to expect in Kaos?

“Having long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods, Zeus’ reign has never been truly threatened. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Believing it to be the harbinger of an ancient prophecy which foretells his destruction, neurosis sets in: Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming. As his paranoia takes hold, the God of Gods – seeing signs everywhere – starts to dangerously self-destruct. And he’s right to be worried,” reads the logline (via What’s on Netflix). “Zeus’ one time friend and now prisoner, Prometheus, is orchestrating a plan to bring him down. The plan involves three disparate humans, all of whom are totally unaware of their cosmic significance or the part they must play in saving the world. No pressure. (Some pressure).”

Kaos is created, written, and executive produced by Charlie Covell, who has previously worked with Netflix on the teen dark comedy The End of the F***ing World. The 10-episode series is described as a contemporary reimagining of Greek mythology, exploring themes of gender politics, power, and life in the underworld. Joining Goldblum are Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, David Thewlis as Hades, Janet McTeer as Hera, Killian Scott as Orpheus, Aurora Perrineau as Riddy, Daniel Lawrence Taylor as Theseus, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, Debi Mazar as Medusa and more.
