Universal’s Wolf Man Remake Release Date Delayed to 2025

Per Deadline, Universal Pictures has officially delayed the theatrical release date for Blumhouse‘s upcoming Wolf Man remake, which had just recently begun its production.

Initially scheduled for an October 2024 release, the supernatural horror movie has been pushed back to next year, and will now arrive in theaters on January 17, 2025. Its newest release date will see the remake directly go up against Sony Pictures’ Paddington in Peru.

Who’s the cast of Wolf Man?

Wolf Man will reportedly center around a family who’s being terrorized by a lethal predator. The modern remake stars Emmy winner Julia Garner (Ozark), Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott (Girls, Catch-22) and Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), with Abbott portraying the titular character.

The film is being directed by The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell from a screenplay he co-wrote with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo. Prior to Abbott’s casting, Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling was originally attached for the titular role. Despite his exit, Gosling will still served as a executive producing alongside Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell. It is produced by Jason Blum.
