Ghostbusters Animated Series Set for Netflix, Terminator Zero Adds Timothy Olyphant

A new Ghostbusters animated series is being made for Netflix.

Announced at Netflix Animation’s press presentation in Hollywood today, which was attended by SuperHeroHype’s Luke Y. Thompson, a new Ghostbusters series is currently in the works. It is not yet known if it will feature returning characters from the franchise or brand-new ones.

Sony Pictures Animation posted on X, “There’s something strange in the neighborhood… Our supernatural comedy series, based on Ghostbusters, is coming soon to [Netflix].”

Timothy Olyphant joins Terminator Zero

It was also announced at the presentation that Timothy Olyphant is voicing The Terminator in the upcoming Terminator Zero anime series.

The official Netflix account posted on X, “Excited to announce that Timothy Olyphant will voice The Terminator in Terminator Zero, premiering August 29 a.k.a Judgment Day!”

“2022: A future war has raged for decades between the few human survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: The AI known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity,” reads the series’ synopsis. “Caught between the future and this past is a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee who works to launch a new AI system designed to compete with Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by an unrelenting assassin from the future which forever alters the fate of his three children.”

Olyphant is known for playing Sheriff Seth Bullock in Deadwood and Raylan Givens in Justified. He’s also starred in television series such as Damages, The Office, Santa Clarita Diet, Fargo, The Mandalorian, and more.

His filmography includes 1997’s Scream 2, 2000’s Gone in 60 Seconds, 2003’s Dreamcatcher, 2007’s Life Free or Die Hard, 2010’s The Crazies, and 2022’s Amsterdam.

Terminator Zero premieres on Netflix on August 29, 2024.
