The Rivals of Amziah King Cast: Kurt Russell, Cole Sprouse & More Join Matthew McConaughey Movie

Black Bear has welcomed eight new actors to The Rivals of Amziah King cast for its forthcoming thriller drama, which will be led by Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey.

Who are The Rivals of Amziah King cast?

McConaughey will officially be joined by new cast members Kurt Russell (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Cole Sprouse (Lisa Frankenstein), Owen Teague (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Scott Shepherd (Killers of the Flower Moon), Rob Morgan (Mudbound), Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Jake Horowitz (Bones and All), and newcomer Angelina LookingGlass. Their casting comes after over a year since it was announced that McConaughey had signed on for the leading role. Production on the project had just recently been completed.

The Rivals of Amziah King is written and directed by Andrew Patterson. Patterson made his feature directorial debut in 2019 with the acclaimed indie sci-fi picture The Vast of Night. Described as “a deeply atmospheric, character-focused” movie, it is expected to take place against the unique backdrop of remote Oklahoma. Besides McConaughey, Deadline brings word that LookingGlass is also leading the project after being cast through a global search.

The film is executive produced by Rob Silva, John Friedberg, and Christopher Cassanova, with David Heyman, Teddy Schwarzman, Michael Heimler, Jeffrey Clifford, Will Greenfield, and Patterson set as producers. Black Bear Pictures has boarded as its financier.
