Until Dawn Movie Cast Announced for Live-Action Adaptation of Hit Horror Game

Screen Gems and PlayStation Studios have officially welcomed four young actors to join the Until Dawn movie cast for the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the popular horror video game franchise. The project comes after nearly a decade since Supermassive Games and Sony had first launched the interactive video game.

“At PlayStation Productions, we are always looking to find creative and authentic ways to adapt our beloved games that our fans will enjoy,” PlayStation Studios executive Asad Qizilbash said in a statement. “Alongside Screen Gems, we’ve assembled a fantastic cast of new characters that builds upon our already stellar filmmaking team and their vision for the adaptation. We’re excited to reveal more about the movie soon.”

Who are in the Until Dawn Movie Cast?

Per Deadline, Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Michael Cimino (Love Victor), Ji-young Yoo (Expats) and Odessa A’zion (Hellraiser reboot) have been tapped for leading roles in the upcoming Until Dawn movie, which is being described as an “R-rated and terrifying love letter to the horror genre.” The story will center around a group of friends reuniting at a mountain retreat after the death of a friend a year earlier.

The project hails from horror filmmakers David F. Sandberg (Annabelle Creation, Lights Out) and Gary Dauberman (Annabelle Comes Home, Salem’s Lot), with Sandberg directing from a script written by Dauberman. The adaptation will be produced by Qizilbash, Dauberman, Mia Maniscalco, Lotta Losten, Roy Lee, and Carter Swan. At the moment, film currently has no release date attached to it yet.

Besides the Until Dawn, the leading cast members are also currently slated to appear in other high-profile projects. Rubin will next be seen in another horror movie in the form of Netflix’s Fear Street: Prom Queens, while Yoo will be starring alongside Pedro Pascal in the upcoming Freaky Tales movie. As for Cimino, he will be one of the leads in the Prime Video drama Motorheads. Meanwhile, A’zion has recently been cast in Rachel Sennott’s untitled HBO pilot.
