Netflix has finally released The Diplomat Season 2 teaser trailer for the upcoming return of its acclaimed political drama, starring Golden Globe winner Keri Russell (Felicity, The Americans). The next installment will be available for streaming on Thursday, October 31, after over a year since Season 1 made its Netflix debut.

The teaser provides fans with a new look at Russell’s return as U.S. ambassador Kate Wyler. She was last seen during the first season’s explosive finale, where her husband Hal was caught in a car-bomb explosion with deputy chief of mission Stuart Hayford. The video also features Oscar winner Allison Janney (The West Wing), teasing her character U.S. Vice President Grace Penn’s important role in the next installment.

Described as a high-stakes political drama, The Diplomat is created and executive produced by Debora Cahn, who is also serving as the showrunner. Joining Russell are Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, Ato Essandoh, Celia Imrie, Michael McKean, Nana Mensah, T’Nia Miller, and Miguel Sandoval.
