Ocean’s 14 may be happening.

Directed by Lewis Milestone, Ocean’s 11 was released in 1960 and starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford.

Steven Soderbergh then remade the film in 2001 with an ensemble cast that includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Andy García, Casey Affleck, Carl Reiner, and more.

Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven was followed by two direct sequels, 2004’s Ocean’s Twelve and 2007’s Ocean’s Thirteen (both of which Soderbergh returned to direct), along with an Ocean’s 8 spin-off directed by Gary Ross.

Now, the gang might be getting back together for another heist.

Is Ocean’s 14 really happening? What do we know about the potential project?

According to a recent report from Deadline, there is “momentum” building on Ocean’s Fourteen. Clooney and Pitt are both expected to come back, while Edward Berger is being eyed to direct the movie.

“While insiders have said it’s early and Berger doesn’t even have an offer (he’s juggling several of them), I am persuaded this one has some teeth,” Deadline’s article reads. “And I would expect for The Instigators co-stars Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, and the rest of the ensemble will be back in the fold.”

Berger is best known for directing 2022’s All Quiet on the Western Front, which was nominated for Best Picture at the 95th Academy Awards. His new film, Conclave, recently premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and will now be released in United States theaters on November 1, 2024, by Focus Features. It stars Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and more.

Clooney previously teased that Ocean’s Fourteen could be happening when speaking to Uproxx’s Mike Ryan in December 2023. He said at the time, “We have a really good script for another Ocean’s now, so we may end up doing another one. It’s actually a great script.”

There is also an untitled Ocean’s prequel film in the works with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling that is being directed by Jay Roach.
