While the movie is now available for Premium Digital Ownership at home and for 48-hour rental on participating digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, Fandango At Home, and more, Warner Bros. Discovery has announced a Max streaming release date for Trap.
When is M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap coming to Max?
Trap will begin streaming on Max on October 25, 2024. Meanwhile, the movie will also be released on 4K and Blu-ray on November 5, 2024.
“A father and teen daughter attend a pop concert, where they realize they’re at the center of a dark and sinister event,” the synopsis for Trap reads.
Written and directed by Shyamalan, Trap also stars Alison Pill as Rachel, Hayley Mills as Dr. Josephine Grant, Jonathan Langdon as Jamie, and Mark Bacolcol as Spencer. Shyamalan also produces the movie alongside Ashwin Rajan and Marc Bienstock, while Steven Schneider serves as the executive producer.
Trap made approximately $82.4 million at the global box office off an estimated $30 million budget.

Speaking with Empire Magazine, Shyamalan previously said that he pitched Trap as The Silence of the Lambs if it was set at a Taylor Swift concert. He also spoke about how he was inspired by a real-life sting operation — Operation Flagship, which occurred at the Washington Convention Center in December 1985 — when making the movie.
“The cops were literally cheerleaders and mascots,” Shyamalan said of the 1985 event. “These guys were dancing as they came in. And they were all caught. It was so twisted and funny.”
