Hellboy: The Crooked Man Digital Release Date Set for Reboot
The Hellboy: The Crooked Man digital release date has been set, with various online listings revealing that the film will be heading straight to digital next month.
When is the Hellboy: The Crooked Man digital release date?
According to preorder listings from online sites like Amazon, Hellboy: The Crooked Man will be released digitally on October 8, 2024. This seems to suggest that the film will skip out on any theatrical release and instead move straight to digital storefronts. The film is available to preorder now on Amazon for $19.99.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man is directed by Brian Taylor, who previously made 2006’s Crank, 2009’s Crank: High Voltage, 2009’s Gamer, and 2011’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance with Mark Neveldine. As a solo director, Taylor made 2017’s Mom and Dad and several episodes of Syfy’s Happy! series.
“This film brings a chilling tale of survival against the forces of darkness,” the official synopsis reads. “Set in the 1950s, rookie BPRD agent Bobbie Jo Song finds herself in a dire situation when tasked with delivering a spider to the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense. She must enlist the help of Hellboy to confront the malevolent Crooked Man, who has returned to Earth to harvest souls for the devil.”
The Crooked Man stars Jack Kesy in the titular role as Hellboy. Along with Kesy, the movie stars Adeline Rudolph as Bobbie Jo Song, Jefferson White as Tom Ferrel, Leah McNamara, Joseph Marcell, Hannah Margetson, and Martin Bassindale.
“His intention is to make a horror movie, so that’ll be nice. That’ll be interesting,” Hellboy creator Mike Mignola said of Taylor and co-writer Chris Golden when speaking to Variety about the film. “It’s the first Hellboy script that I read and I went, ‘Oh, it’s a horror movie,’ which is what I wanted. Taylor does not have a reputation as a horror movie director. But, so far, we’ve had two horror movie directors make Hellboy movies and we’ve never gotten a horror movie.”
