Who’s involved in the Peaky Blinders movie?
Described as an epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga, the film is being directed by Tom Harper from a screenplay written by Steven Knight. Further details about its plot remained under wraps. Murphy will be joined by a set of new acclaimed cast members, including Rebecca Ferguson (Dune), Barry Keoghan (Saltburn), and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs). At the moment, it’s still unclear if some of the main cast members from the original series will also return for the movie.
“I’m thrilled to see the cameras rolling on this new chapter of the Peaky Blinders story, set during World War II,” series creator Steven Knight said in a statement (via Tudum). “The country is at war, and so, of course, are our Peaky Blinders.”
The Peaky Blinders movie is produced by Knight, Murphy, Patrick Holland, and Guy Heeley. Executive producers are Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Caryn Mandabach, and Andrew Warren. It is a production between Netflix and BBC Film. Last December 2023, it was reported that Netflix was developing two Peaky Blinders spin-offs, with the first one set to take place in the middle of the 20th century, and the other one centered around the origins of Helen McCrory’s Polly Gray.
