The 2025 Oscars could have none other than Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, taking to the stage as hosts. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reportedly on top of the Oscars’ wish list to host in 2025
After sharing screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, fans could get to witness the legendary duo of longtime best friends, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman once again. This time, it can be on the iconic Oscars stage, as a source close to the Academy revealed that the actors are on the top of the wish list to host the 2025 edition.
The source told In Touch Weekly, ”Hugh and Ryan – as a team – are at the top of the Oscars’ wish list now that they’ve sealed their status as the two biggest movie stars of the year.” They also highlighted how the duo hasn’t denied the offer yet and the Academy would have to pay a huge sum to get the two stars as the host.
The source said, ”They haven’t said no yet, but unlike Jimmy Kimmel, who personally took only a nominal, scale fee for hosting the show, Hugh and Ryan are major movie stars and will need to be paid for lending their star power to the show.” The source also complimented Ryan Reynolds’ advertising methods, the similar ones that he employed for Deadpool & Wolverine. They said he could generate the same amount of craze for the Oscars in 2025.
Additionally, the source talked about the innate talents that the two stars possess. They said, ”Like Hugh, Ryan has serious singing and dancing chops and isn’t afraid to make a fool of himself for the sake of getting a laugh. Of course, Hugh has all the experience he needs from his very well received job hosting the show five years ago, but doing it with Ryan can plug into a whole different vibe: bigger, wackier and edgier than his first time around.”
