Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 First Look Photo Teases Return to Skull Island

Warner Bros. and Legendary Television have released a Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 first look photo, previewing the upcoming season and the return to Skull Island.

The new photo doesn’t give away too much, but does show what seems to be a Monarch facility in ruins, with two trucks in the background overlooking a large forest. The setting for the photo, judging by the post on social media, seems to be Skull Island.

What do we know about Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2?

Not much is known about the second season as of now, but it seems at least some portion of it will take place on Skull Island. The finale of the first season saw the reveal of Kong to the series, so it’s also likely we’ll see more of the iconic creature.

Along with Sawai and Tippett, the first season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters starred Kiersey Clemons, Wyatt Russell, Kurt Russell, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, and Ren Watabe. New to Season 2 of the series will be Amber Midthunder, the Prey star. She’ll play a characted named Isabel, who is described as a “powerful and intelligent businesswoman.”

“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ has left an indelible imprint on the hearts, minds, and imaginations of audiences around the world, led by the brilliance of Chris, Matt, Kurt, Wyatt, and the incredibly gifted talented cast and creative team,” said Apple TV+’s Morgan Wandell when the series was renewed for a second season, via Variety. “We couldn’t be more excited for viewers to not only have the chance to experience even more thrills in season two, but to embark on epic, new journeys in the franchise, as we expand Legendary’s Monsterverse.”

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters was created by Chris Black and Matt Fraction. They both serve as showrunners and executive producers, while Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Matt Shakman, Andrew Colville, and Jen Roskind also executive produce.

More Monsterverse spin-off series are also in the works. However, plot details are being kept under wraps at this time.
