Wolfs 2: Jon Watts Doesn’t Believe Brad Pitt & George Clooney Sequel Will Happen
Despite the large star power of Brad Pitt and George Clooney, director Jon Watts doesn’t think that Wolfs 2 is going to happen.
What did Jon Watts say about Wolfs 2?
Speaking to Collider, Watts was asked about what movie he has planned next, when he revealed that he doesn’t think that a Wolfs sequel is coming at all.
“I don’t know what I’m directing next, and I don’t think there’s going to be a Wolfs sequel,” said Watts.
The news comes as a bit of a shock after Apple announced that the movie had been one of Apple TV+’s most-viewed movies after its premiere. Despite that, the film received mostly mixed reviews, and with the film surprisingly being pulled from a theatrical release earlier this year and reports of Clooney and Pitt’s salary being too high surfacing, any hopes for a sequel seem over.
“[Clooney] plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high-profile crime,” the official synopsis of the film reads. “But when a second fixer (Pitt) shows up and the two ‘lone wolves’ are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.”
Outside of Clooney and Pitt, Wolfs also stars Austin Abrams, Amy Ryan, and Poorna Jagannathan. The film is written and directed by Jon Watts, who previously made 2014’s Clown, 2015’s Cop Car, 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
