28 Years Later Teaser Possibly Hints at Its Trailer Release Date
The teaser for 28 Years Later was released by Sony Pictures Entertainment recently and it may have revealed some hints regarding the full trailer release date.
28 Years Later is the third film in a zombie/horror film trilogy which began with the movie 28 Days Later in 2002, and was continued by its sequel, 28 Weeks Later in 2007. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes, 28 Years Later is scheduled to open in theaters in the United States on June 20, 2025.
The first 28 Years Later trailer may release on Tuesday
The teaser for 28 Years Later debuted on YouTube on December 7, 2024, provoking numerous theories from fans. The 13-second clip does not reveal much. However, it displays an island in between flashes, while the whole video largely had a black backdrop. The clip also shows minor appearances of red skulls and contamination logos, with a glimpse of mysterious figures.
Additionally, what caught the attention of many viewers was the Morse code in the video, which has been interpreted as a hint at the release date of the official trailer. As the message provided in Morse code appears to be “Tuesday,” many fans online have theorized that the full trailer will be released on December 10, 2024.
Sony Pictures Entertainment didn’t provide a description under the teaser and the title of the video was an SOS emoji.
28 Years Later is written by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, who also collaborated on the original 2002 movie 28 Days Later. Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy is also returning in the role of Jim. According to Deadline, 28 Years Later will be followed by 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple, which was shot back-to-back with the film. Before releasing the teaser of 28 Years Later, Sony also unveiled the official poster of the movie on X (formerly Twitter) which bears the tagline, “Time Didn’t Heal Anything.”
