Aaron Taylor-Johnson Asks Marvel’s Wanda Why She Didn’t Revive His Quicksilver
In the wake of the release of Aaron Taylor-Johnson-led Kraven the Hunter, the actor has come out to shed light on his previous stint as Quicksilver in the MCU. He famously portrayed the fast-paced mutant in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, which also marked the debut of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Another actor to have donned the speedster’s shoes was Evan Peters, who did so for the now-defunct Fox Marvel Universe. In a recent discussion, Aaron Taylor-Johnson shared the conversation he had with Peters regarding Quicksilver, while also throwing a massive question Elizabeth Olsen’s way.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson doesn’t know why Wanda resurrected Evan Peters’ Quicksilver
The Bullet Train star stated that he and Evan Peters have a healthy bond, despite playing the same character for two different franchises.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson shared the duo’s interaction about Quicksilver in an interview with IMDb. While talking about their exchange at a Comic Con, he disclosed that the two had a surreal reaction to the situation. So much so, that the two reportedly exclaimed, “Oh my god, aren’t we so lucky that we got to be here and still be here doing what we love doing? But funny that we’re in two different sort of universes doing it.”
The 34-year-old actor then praised his Kick-Ass co-star for his masterful portrayal of Marvel’s iconic speedster. Talking about Peters’ take on Quicksilver, Taylor-Johnson noted, “A huge admiration for what he was able to do with his character, with some things that were fantastic and worked really well.”
The interview also saw Taylor-Johnson receive a pair of action figures of his character and that of Scarlet Witch. Upon seeing a statuette of himself, the actor called the experience to be “kind of mind-blowing” and “very overwhelming.”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson then put up an interesting question regarding the fate of Quicksilver and the powers of Elizabeth Olsen’s MCU character. Hinting at the Scarlet Witch’s reality-bending abilities, he remarked, “I don’t know why she didn’t resurrect me, though.”
Quicksilver’s reign in the MCU was brief, to say the least, with the superhero meeting his maker in his maiden appearance. Since then, the actor has yet to reprise the role. Aaron Taylor-Johnson will now be seen in Sony’s upcoming Kraven the Hunter, which is set to hit the theatres on December 13, 2024.
