Fox Renews Animal Control & More, Cancels 1 TV Show

Fox has renewed two of its live-action comedy series, while also cancelling another drama series on the channel.

What shows have been renewed by Fox?

According to a new report from Variety, both Animal Control and Going Dutch have been renewed for a fourth and second season, respectively. Animal Control stars Joel McHale, and follows the story of a group of animal control workers in Seattle.

The show is created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling, and has aired 30 episodes across its three seasons.

Going Dutch is led by Denis Leary, and follows the story of a Colonel who is assigned to a military base in the Netherlands following an offensive rant. The series is created by Joel Church-Cooper, and recently aired its Season 1 finale in March.

On the flipside of the renewals, Deadline is reporting that Fox has opted not to renew the drama series Rescue: HI-Surf for a second season. The series aired its Season 1 finale in March, and had big expectations for Fox, premiering after the Super Bowl and getting a seven-episode back order from the company.

However, it ultimately did not land, and there are currently no plans to shop the series by Warner Bros. Television, according to Deadline.

Following the story of a team of lifeguards in the North Shore of O’ahu, Hawaii, Rescue: HI-Surf starred Robbie Magasiva, Arielle Kebbel, Adam Demos, Kekoa Scott, Kekumano, Zoe Cipres, and Alex Aiono. The show was created by Matt Kester, who also acted as showrunner.
