Netflix has officially released the first trailer for Tyler Perry’s Straw, the upcoming drama starring Taraji P. Henson and Teyana Taylor.

What happens in the Straw trailer?

The trailer follows the story of a single mother (Henson), who looks to be robbing a bank in an effort to care for her ill child. Throughout the trailer, Taylor‘s character, a police officer, is seen in communication with her, while Henson talks about the struggles she’s faced. Straw is set to release on Netflix on June 6, 2025.

Along with Henson and Taylor, Straw will also star Sherri Shepherd, Sinbad, Rockmond Dunbar, Ashley Versher, Mike Merrill, and Glynn Turman. The film is written and directed by Tyler Perry, with Perry, Tony L. Strickland, and Angi Bones serving as producers on the project.
