Michael Bay’s Skibidi Toilet Movie Gets Exciting Update
Invisible Narratives has announced a brand new update regarding the current status of director Michael Bay‘s upcoming Skibidi Toilet movie. The project will be based on the machinima web series from YouTube channel DaFuq!?Boom!.
The viral series was created by Alexey Gerasimov, which started on February 2023. It centers around a war between toilets with human heads coming out of their bowls, and men with cameras for heads. Since its debut, Skibidi Toilet has evolved into a global phenomenon, captivating audiences with its uniquely distinct style and vast creator ecosystem.
What was the update for Michael Bay’s Skibidi Toilet movie?
After nearly a year since the adaptation was first announced, production on the Skibidi Toilet movie has officially started. Bay has been working with his creative team on the project since last summer. His team includes Academy Award-nominated production designer Jeffrey Beecroft (12 Monkeys, Transformers, A Quiet Place), and three-time Academy Award-winning VFX supervisor Rob Legato (Titanic, Avatar, Hugo, The Jungle Book). Invisible Narratives is producing, developing, and financing the project.
“I will say that Michael and Jeffrey Beecroft, who’s his longtime production designer and a colleague of his that’s worked with him on all of his movies, have been working very closely with Alexey to really professionalize the kind of back engine of this, to make sure, if we ever decide to go film or television, that this is kind of lifted beyond just the resources that creators have on the internet,” Invisible Narratives CEO Adam Goodman previously said in a statement.
Bay is best known for his work on blockbuster movies, including the Bad Boys movies, Armageddon, and the Transformers movies. He is acknowleged as the fourth-most commercially successfully director in movie history. It was recently reported that he’s collaborating with Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney on the upcoming live-action film adaptation of OutRun, based on one of Sega‘s popular arcade video game series.
