Agents of SHIELD star Chloe Bennet shoots down rumors that she's returning as Quake in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe project. Marvel TV expanded the MCU in 2013 with the launch of Agents of SHIELD. The show repeatedly connected itself to the MCU movies early on, but a separation eventually grew. While most Agents of SHIELD viewers would agree the show was at its best when it wasn't directly referencing the larger MCU, many still want to see the characters appear in Marvel Studios projects now that Agents of SHIELD is finished.

The Agents of SHIELD character who is at the top of most lists to return is Daisy Johnson aka Quake. The powerful Inhuman became the show's lead, and Chloe Bennet helped make her arc so compelling. Since Agents of SHIELD season 7 ended with Daisy in space - and potentially back in the main MCU timeline - fans have continued to hold out hope that she'll return. Bennet has remained hopeful she'll play Quake again in the future, too. However, it doesn't appear that will happen as quickly as some internet rumors say.

A few days ago, rumors began to swirl that Marvel Studios is considering bringing Chloe Bennet back as Quake for an upcoming project. The rumor specifically mentioned that this could happen in the Secret Invasion Disney+ series. Agents of SHIELD fans understandably became excited about this possibility, which led to someone asking Bennet on Twitter if the news was real. Unfortunately, Bennet is saying this isn't the case.

Bennet debunking this latest rumor of her MCU return as Quake shouldn't be too surprising. For starters, the source of this rumor is highly questionable. Even if the source were more reliable, Bennet still wouldn't be able to confirm the report. Marvel Studios is quite secretive, which has led to multiple actors involved with upcoming projects having to lie about the validity of the reports. It wasn't long ago that Tatiana Maslany said she wasn't going to be in She-Hulk, but now she is confirmed to be the lead. That's not to say this is happening here, but it is possible.

If Bennet isn't coming back as Quake in Secret Invasion or another imminent MCU project, she still wishes that will change. While most would've believed there was no chance of her or any Agents of SHIELD characters returning, Marvel appears to be willing to do the unexpected. Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 is reportedly including a plethora of past Spider-Man characters, but it has also been said that Charlie Cox will play Daredevil again after doing so in the Marvel TV Netflix shows. If he can return in some fashion, then hopefully it is only a matter of time before Chloe Bennet is back as Quake, too.
